Jamison Shaw Hairdressers is internationally recognized for its expertise in the French Technique. Developed in Paris, this revolutionary technique uses the hair to frame a woman's face taking into account the shape of her head. The resulting looks are soft, sexy and feminine. The French trained stylist stands the client up during the haircut in order to look directly at that which he or she cuts, just as a painter would look directly at a canvas. The style is built from the top down and is made to fall perfectly into place like shingles on a roof. Our French haircuts result in wash and wear hair containing several different looks in each style. You will enjoy first hand the mastery and professionalism of our system as you experience the beautifying process through our signature French haircut.
Balyage is the French method of painting highlights onto the hair. The highlights are typically applied to dry, precut hair and create a result that mimics the effects of natural, sun induced highlights. The technique lessens the occurrence of unwanted re-growth lines often associated with foil highlights or highlights pulled through a cap. Our Balyage artists take into consideration the shape of your head, and your haircut's design, and use individualized patterns allowing them to achieve almost any look through this extraordinary highlighting process. | |

I have been going to Jamison Shaw for over 12 years. The services that I receive (cut/color) have always been exceptional. Candy is the best!! The salon is beautiful-fresh flowers, clean, professional staff, organized.
I have very difficult thick, coarse, curly, hair! After many bad "do's" at other salons I found Jamison Shaw and Candy. She makes my hair look so great and it is so easy for me to style at home!! It took years to convince my husband, Greg, to get his hair done there, and now I can't go without him! Great atmosphere! It's like Cheers---everybody knows our name!
I am not from Atlanta & Jamison Shaw Hairdressers was recommended to me by a friend! I was SO incredibly happy with my cut and the amount of time spent on styling my hair! I have recommended them to many of my friends, all of which have been equally satisfied!
Suzanne is the best! She listens to what you want but also knows what will look the best (color and cut) for your hair and lifestyle. Her coloring technique is superb and so natural that people actually think my hair is naturally the same color it was when I was 16 years old.
I have moved a lot and been to hairdressers/stylists in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco and Suzanne blows them all out of the water!
Jamison Shaw Hairdressers is my favorit Salon in Atlanta. Shane has been my stylist since I began going there, and he's the best!!
I was looking for a place close to home to get my hair done after deciding that I could no longer make the commute to my stylist in Fayetteville. I heard about Denise from a friend of mine and decided to give her a try. My experience at Jamison Shaw has been wonderful! Denise did exactly what I wanted to my hair and I could not be happier. I am so happy to have found a place to get my hair done with a fantastic stylist that doesn't take all day!
Carolyn E. Valdosta, GA

What an amazing place! Always friendly and professional ! I have been going to Kym for at least 20 years and it never fails I get compliments on my hair constantly! She knows her stuff...... color, cut whatever the service she is knowledgeable and listens to what you want done! In the rare event that Kym has not been available I have seen several other stylist that were just a competent and did a great job in her absence. Best of Atlanta hands down!
I have been to 3 different stylist at jamison shaw & have had good experiences each time. They are also opened late on Thursdays which makes it nice to have a place that cuts hair well opened at a time that is so convenient for me.
Alycen N. Gainesville, GA
I have been a satisfied client of Jamison Shaw for over 7 years. I have moved over 50 miles away but I still make the trip for the service and stress free experience. I have tried to switch to other salons closer to my home but I am never as satisfied with my cut and color. Brooke Camarco always leaves me happy with my hair. She is great at giving me honest feedback about what styles and colors would be the most flattering. I would never go anywhere else!!
Wasilla is wonderful for eyelash tinting and eyebrow waxing!
karen h. Atlanta, GA

annie e. Atlanta, GA
I've been going to JSH since I moved to ATL 6 years ago - my first and only choice. Shane Mullins is my guy and I adore him. He treats me like a princess and knows exactly how I like my cut and color!
Ragan C. Alpharetta, GA
Candy Shaw is amazing as a stylist and impressive to watch as the owner of this fast-paced salon. She knows her stuff better than anyone I've seen in Atlanta--and I've tried a lot of reputable salons. It's not a touchy-feely place; while you're there, you're in the middle of a busy business. But they take care of you--drinks, snacks, etc. And you'll leave with a great cut, color and style, guaranteed.
Charlie B. Atlanta, GA
I am an African American female with fine hair..and it is always difficult for someone to cut my hair with style...Jamison Shaw is a diamond..especially Freddie...he is purely an artist when it comes to cutting and styling your hair. Everyone in the salon literally stops to see his finished creation. My hair ALWAYS looks amazing when I leave and the softness is incredible. If you want a good haircut, you can go to someone else, but if you want hair that gets noticed and looks photo ready...go to Freddie.
Stephanie K. Duluth, GA
Started getting my hair cut by Freddie Flores when he was still taking classes. Was one of his hair models and it was the best cut I have ever had. He has the ability to look at your face shape, ask about your lifestyle and come up with the perfect cut for you. I can walk out of there and not go back in for a few months and still get compliments on my "great haircut". The french cutting technique they use makes your cut look wonderful even several weeks after the cut.
I also have Freddie highlight my hair. They do balyage at Jamison Shaw Hairdressers. As my highlights grow out they look natural. No horrible lines that show how badly you need to get your color refreshed.
I never walk out of JSH without getting tons of compliments on how I look. Freddie and JSH do a great job of helping everybody that walks in there walk out looking the best they can look. Not the cheapest place on the block, but isn't it worth a bit more to feel great about how you look? If you are looking for a fabulous hairdresser, check out Freddie at JSH. You will be glad that you did. JSH treats their clients wonderfully. They pamper you in an environment that is stylish and professional. They run a five star operation and it shows.
Anisha H. Atlanta, GA
Okk so ever since I moved to Atlanta, I kept looking for a place to get my eyebrows threaded..yeah most people wax and its easier to find a salon to go get ur eyebrows waxed at...but since I have to be difficult..lol...I kept searching for a good place to go ..but yeah being that I came from DC and had someone take the time to do my eyebrows...this drive thru express was not going to cut it...
Finally after months of searching, I found Wassila at Jamison Shaw....shes awesome!! Yeah I have to admit...its pricey...but I guess you pay for what you get...she took the time to do my eyebrows and face and she even suggested coming in after three days for a "touch up" (did I mention the touch up is free of charge) ....I thought I was in heaven!!!
If you want the care and attention and want to feel pampered, you definately have to go to Wassila!! Shes amazing!! Just make sure you are ready to pay $$$....but I know its worth it!!!!!
As they say...it cost to look good ;)

I have been going to JSH since fall of last year. Now I am really choosy about how my hair get cut I go see Brooke Camarco. She is just fabulous, remembers what I have previously done to my hair. I only go every couple of months and she still remembers what I like. She has been a stylist for over ten years. I have also had highlights done by her. You can book all apts online at their website. They offer coffee, water, soft drinks, and snacks while you are being helped. They have great hair products ans accessorizes. i have never been asked about buying products. If there is some kind of product that your looking for just ask and they will help find products that fit your need. JSH makes all of their own products, they do not sell other salon hair product brands. Friendly atmosphere!

Got my hair did right before the Thanksgiving holiday and I must say that I was quite impressed with everything. I've been to Jamison Shaw three times now and each time the staff has been curteous and helpful and the stylists friendly and talented.
My stylist-- Elsa Guzman-- is fabulous. I'm rather picky about who cuts my hair since it's curly and can be difficult to cut well, but she has done a good job each time of making sure I'm happy with what she has done. They do this French cutting technique-- see their web site for more details on that, but basically it means that they have you stand up a couple of times during your hair cut so they can tell how your hair naturally falls and make sure that it's even on both sides. Elsa is a tiny woman, so even though I'm not super tall, with heels on I dwarf her. But she had me stand up and did a great job despite the height difference. I had her do color this time in addition to my usual hair cut and she totally blew me away with her skills. She came and showed me the colors she was going to use and made sure they were what I wanted. She did this painting technique which she says make highlights/lowlights look more natural, and she was totally right. I've gotten compliments galore. She blew my hair out straight (no extra charge) and did a great job with that too. It's $41 for a hair cut from her, which is pretty cheap I think. Some stylists are more but most of them are priced about mid-level. Color is more obviously, but my color was $90 total which still isn't that bad for two colors of highlights/lowlights.
Good things about the salon in general: cute decor, good magazine selection--crucial if you're getting color put in, friendly staff, decent prices, dressing rooms to put on robes, wide variety of services. They have their own brand of styling products and shampoos/conditioners, which all smell divine and are good quality.
Again, let me say that I am pretty choosy about salons. I used to work for Aveda so we used to get to go to really nice salons and get hair cuts and color and other stuff for free, so I got used to a pretty high standard of service. Jamison Shaw keeps the standards high.

This place is pretty darn good. I'm really picky with my hair, but my hairdresser, Kym, always makes it look good. She's got talent and is very artistic and cuts in ways that are innovative and different. I really appreciate that. Of course, a haircut with her will set you back $69 + $5 for a blow out, so save your pennies!

I have been going to my same hairdresser at Jamison Shaw for 5 years. Her name is Brooke Camarco and she's fabulous. I went there after an awful dye experience at a trendy Midtown spot when I first moved to town. Brooke knew immediately what to do and has done a wonderful job on my hair, whether lighter or darker, shorter or longer, ever since. It's about $50 for a haircut and $80 for highlights or dye. It's no more expensive than any other salon in Buckhead, Midtown, or the Highlands. I go there for my color always (you can't trust just anyone) and my haircut only when I'm getting layers. I go somewhere less expensive in between cuts. They also have really good hair products (their own brand). On the basics, I normally just go to ULTA, but they have some really great products I can't find anywhere else. Oh, and they always gives me snacks and fountain diet cokes when I'm there - it makes it fun! : )
